De golfbanen

Benamor Golf

benamor golf course

Benamor Golf is located in the Algarve, just a few kilometres east of the ancient city of Tavira. The course was completed in the spring of 2000. In the nearby foothills of Barrocal, you will enjoy some of the best mountain and sea views the Algarve has to offer. But maybe most enjoyable of all, are the peaceful surroundings of a construction free resort. Sir Henry Cotton designed the course and was inspired by the beautiful old church next to the site of the Clubhouse and by the spectacular location. The final result is a delightful par 71 golf course of 5.500 metres (6.100 yards), which offers a pleasant playing experience, to players of all standards. The course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning. The indigenous olive, cork, carob, fig and almond trees, many centuries old, feature aesthetically and in playing terms. Water hazards and sand bunkers are located to test the strategy and striking ability of the player. The Penn A4 greens and tees are simply superb. The fairways of Bermuda Sahara and cool-season grasses, provide good lies for wood and iron shots. The driving range, putting green and large putting course offer excellent practice facilities.

Quinta de Cima

Next to Quinta da Ria is the Quinta de Cima, which is distinguished by its generous fairways, the numerous bunkers around the greens and along the fairways, and the stream that crosses a large of the holes, which together constitute a true test of the skill of most players. Water hazards and long fairways require a good selection of golf clubs, even for more experienced players. From any of your tees, this magnificent 18-hole course is a real test of golf and a real challenge. The whole estate is in deep peace. From Quinta de Cima, the views are spectacular and inspiring: from any part of the countryside, both the mountains and the sea are a delight to the eyes. Centuries old olive trees and carob trees, together with the border of orange trees and vines, maintain the typical landscape of the region.

Quinta do Vale

A challenging layout, in a unique natural environment?, Severiano Ballesteros. The golf course was specially designed by the world famous player Severiano Ballesteros, considered European Player of the Century, who now owns Trajectory, S.L., the company responsible for the project. The Quinta do Vale golf course has been designed to attract golfers of every level and will be a strong candidate for hosting important international championships. Covering an area of 75 hectares, the course is fully integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, taking full advantage of the undulating terrain giving a unique character to each of the 18 holes. An 18-hole Championship layout including 6 Par-5´s, 6 Par-4´s and 6 Par-3´s. Superbly integrated into the landscape and with stunning views over the Guadiana River, the course sits in a natural valley overlooked by the Clubhouse. At Quinta do Vale, players will notice Seve´s creativity as well as his promise: To please everyone no matter what their handicap is. The course is enhanced by numerous dogleg holes, wide fairways and obstacles all set in breath-taking surroundings.

Quinta de Ria

The first of the two 18-hole courses stretches over an area with spectacular views, on the east coast of the Algarve, better known as the Sotavento. The Quinta da Ria golf course, located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, has been described by experienced golfers as one of the most beautiful in the region. In fact, overlooking the estuary of the Ria Formosa, the views to the sand below and to the shuttle of the tides, are breath-taking. When designing the course Quinta da Ria, the architect Rocky Rocquemore knew how to preserve the natural habitat by taking advantage of the existing natural landscape, which has already been described by many golfers as one of the most beautiful in the region. The view over the sea and the sand to the south and the mountain view to the north, make Quinta da Ria a real paradise for golfers. Along the 18 holes we find five large lakes, which serve as habitat for a wide variety of fauna species and are also an important resource for field watering. The innumerable carob trees, olive trees and existing almond trees contribute to the balance of the ecosystem.
